Here is something that doesn’t come around everyday. It is a new old stock Buffet S1 soprano saxophone that is nearly perfect. I am told that it was used as a prop in a play, of all things, and then put away. It is all original including the beautiful original case. It plays VERY nicely, great tone and modern ergonomics. These sopranos are unique in their full-bodied, rich tone. The sound is far warmer and more complex than most other sopranos with modern keywork; it is not nasal at all, but full and round with a medium dark, focused core. Whether you are looking for a rich, expressive classical soprano tone or a pleasant, all-around soprano for multi-use, this would be a very good choice.

These sopranos are unique in their full-bodied, rich tone. The sound is far warmer and more complex than most other sopranos with modern keywork; it is not nasal at all, but full and round with a medium dark, focused core. The intonation is good (for a soprano), but not automatic, like on a Yamaha, for instance. It is keyed up to high F#.
