This is a Conn 30M tenor that actually plays on its older pads, (which, by the way, appear to have a set of desirable Selmer Tone-x domed metal resonators on them) but which has definitely been around the block. It has had numerous posts resoldered, and it has been relacquered. If you’re wanting a 30M in the best serial number range (291xxx) at a low price, this is it, but it will need some major love as well, if you want it to play its best.

The original neck looks pretty good with some dings, and is not pulled down. The horn is certainly ugly as is, unless you really like the look of multi-colored patina on brass. The bare brass will polish up to an even sheen when the horn is overhauled, by the way, and then it’ll look like a matte finished or stripped lacquer bare brass horn, which will be beautiful. I’ve priced it low enough that you can afford to do the work and end up with a good deal on a 30M.
