Conn 30M Tenor Connqueror Original Lacquer Fresh Overhaul Great!

This is among the nicest 30M’s that I have had for sale in a long time! It has a fresh high-end overhaul! There is nothing like a Conn 30M for beauty, build quality, and a big, powerful Jazz Era tone. In my opinion, if you can get a nice vintage Conn to play, you should.

Description

This Conn 30M came with original pads and has just received a high end overhaul by Carlo Cennamo. It is in TOP playing condition and just plays amazingly well. If you have been looking for a Conn tenor to play and enjoy, this one is one of those rare, really clean examples that ALSO has a top shelf overhaul just completed sparing no expense to get it really right!

If you have been looking for the best Conn tenor possible, look no further. The 30M Connqueror is the most deluxe full-featured saxophone Conn ever made, and one of the most deluxe ever made period. The way the mechanism works, if you set it up correctly once, then it is set for your entire lifetime. All the adjustments are built into the horn, and are not compressible materials that wear out. All you have to do is swap the occasional pad, and you are all set to keep playing. It makes maintenance and repair easy.

This is a horn that should satisfy most anyone – collectibility wise, it is about as good as it gets – deluxe engraving, solid silver key touches, deluxe keywork (I love that neck octave key), limited numbers of these horns made. (My estimate is somewhere around 1500 tenors assuming generously that one in ten prewar Conn tenors was a 30M.) And this one is in very good condition, with original lacquer almost all there, no resolders, dents or dings, no damage to neck, bell, or body tube, save a couple of small dents removed from the bow that are nearly invisible now. These horns have often sold off of my wait list in the past, and this is one of the only times that one made it to the actual site. Carlo Cennamo is one of those rare, obsessive saxophone techs who will take the time to get every last tiny adjustment right on a vintage horn. His website is here, and you can read about his repair philosophy here.  His wait time for an overhaul is currently about a year, so buying this Conn 30M also lets you skip the line.

The price includes a new BAM Softpack tenor case, which is in my opinion the best modern case for a Connqueror. If you want to swap that for something else, talk to me.

Only one available!
