This is a relacquered King Zephyr Special Tenor from 1940 with a repad done recently by Emilio Lyons in Boston. It’s priced low because it’s a relacquer, but you get all the Zephyr Special tone and features – solid silver double socket neck, pearls in the side keys etc. This horn can blow the walls down with the size of its tone. And the keywork is actually pretty comfortable as well. The pad job is not deluxe – but the pads are new, and you get a Zephyr Special for the price of a used Yamaha 62 or something, so it’s pretty great all around.
