This is a well cared-for Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone from 1960 that has the high F# key and silver plate. The silver plate finish is aftermarket, done so that this would match the other instruments in a military band. It doesn’t look like it was relacquered or buffed significantly as part of that process. Probably just chemically stripped and then plated. It currently has older pads that are still sealing fairly well. It has the original neck with matching serial number. It’s american-engraved, in case you were wondering. Plan on a repad before too long. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer Mark VI for this price. The 80k serials are just about the most desirable version, and they are often priced much higher. Plus you get the high F #, which is a big bonus for many players today.
