This horn is in beautiful shape with gorgeous engraving and lacquer, and the tone really is reminiscent of the Mark VI vibe. Intonation and ergonomics are modern and better than a VI, so it’s a great horn for a whole range of people interested in a pro alto. There’s a good reason that these horns are so popular! They have the best tone of any of the modern Selmers (in my opinion)

Here is an excellent condition Reference 54 alto from Selmer Paris. It comes the original BAM Selmer case.

This horn has just gotten all new pads by Matt Stohrer. The setup is definitely better now than on a new Ref 54, and the horn should be good with only minor adjustments needed for many years to come. This is a turn-key purchase on a beautiful Reference 54 that plays better than new, for waay less than a new one.
