Yamaha YAS-875EXIIS Silver Plated Alto Excellent Condition Yamaha Pro Shop Setup 68716

Setup by the Yamaha Pro Shop in Europe for one of the best sax players in Denmark, this beautiful silver plated Yamaha 875EXII is only about 1.5 years old. It was played for a year and traded to GetASax for a vintage King (who can blame him?) but the EX is my favorite modern Yamaha and is a truly amazing saxophone. This one just had a nice clean oil and adjust, and it is playing like new and looking nearly so. The reason to get an 875EX is the amazing precision of how it plays. I’m not sure there as ever been a more in tune alto saxophone in production, from low Bb up to high F# everything just slots in. It’s way easier than other modern altos in that respect. The tone is also surprisingly interesting – medium bright, clear, but with a bit of complexity. You can use any mouthpiece on this also, so you can take the tone any direction you want. This is in contrast to some modern Selmers, where they only really tune with a Selmer mouthpiece or one of similar design, which severely limits your options. Anyway, there’s no damage, no wear, no repairs – just a really exceptionally fine playing modern Yamaha, almost new, but heavily discounted from the new price. Plus you usually have to wait a year or more to get a silver plated one on special order.
