As far as I can tell, according to players who have compared them, the YSS-62 may still be the best sounding soprano that Yamaha has made so far. These are just great sopranos in every respect: a nice, warm tone, great intonation, great ergonomics, great build-quality. They are hard to beat.

This horn has some light lacquer wear, and a crease was removed from the bell flare at some point. It looks good now, so they did a good job. There are no dents, dings, or resolders on the horn. The pads are older and still sealing well. I would plan on a repad in the next 3 years or so with average use and sooner if you play a lot. The body is straight and the keywork is nice and smooth. This is one of the rare 4-digit serial number horns that seem to be the very best of the best, so someone needs to get this horn and put it to good use! These do not come up for sale very often, and I had to look far and wide for this one.
