This is a beautiful, handmade Yanagisawa sopranino. If you don’t know Yanagisawa, they are a small, family-owned business in Japan made up of well-paid, highly-skilled craftsmen and women who make the best-built saxophones on the planet today. Yanagisawa makes great saxophones in general, but they especially stand out for their excellent sopraninos, sopranos, and baritones. This is a very clean example of an 80’s Yangagisawa sopranino in excellent condition. It looks great, with basically all its original lacquer intact. There is also no past or current damage. I have the original mouthpiece for this horn as well, and it is included in the price, so that you get the set. It comes in a soft case that still protects this little beauty just fine. This horn is so small that you can tuck it inside your suitcase, briefcase, or backpack no problem. It sounds great. Really rich, warm, and pleasant. (Especially in the lower and middle registers- haha!)
The pads are old on this one – probably original. You can play it, but it could use new pads or at least some additional work. I’m pricing it low so you can get that done yourself if you want to. You won’t find a better quality sopranino for this price anywhere, and the original mouthpeice can also be expensive and hard to find, and it is INCLUDED in the price.
