The 880 is what I always recommend to people looking for a great modern horn under $2000 that has a tone with a vintage element. This horn has an unusually rich, complex tone that is medium bright and has a nice lyrical, singing quality to it. It has a lot of flexibility according to what mouthpiece you choose, tone wise. The intonation and ergonomics are great, much like all the modern Yanagisawas.
Cosmetically, there is some lacquer wear on the back of the body tube and on some of the other touch points. There have been some small dents removed from the back of the bow, looks like.
This horn has good pads, but it needs some setup/adjustment to play well. It is in line for this, but I’ll also sell it as is, needing a bit of minor pad work to play its best.
