Description
Wolfe Tayne hard rubber soprano saxophone mouthpiece with original ligature and cap, facing marked 3 measuring .046, equivalent to a modern Otto Link 4*. As far as I know, these were Babbitt blanks that were finished by Wolfe Tayne, a famous craftsman who is behind the BARI brand as well as the “WT” facing seen on some old Otto Link mouthpieces. The facing on this piece appears original, though it difficult to tell exactly since it appears to have been hand-finished in the facing and baffle. The baffle is a moderate roll-over, with straight sidewalls and a circular squeeze-throat chamber much like the older (and much more expensive) Selmer Soloists. This piece plays warmer and bigger than a Soloist, and I think it is an excellent soprano piece for a good price.
