This soprano is as close to new condition as you could ask for, being over 80 years old. It includes the original case, mouthpiece, lyre, and included screwdriver. These horns all have a big, warm, spread tone that is what makes them so desirable for players today. It is impossible to get this sound on a modern soprano. It is also a very “live” horn, with unusual resonance in the body tube when you push it. The intonation on a vintage Conn is very good, but also flexible. This gives you a lot of control as a player, and it requires that you have a good ear as well. In exchange, you get a smooth, velvety tone that is well worth the outdated ergonomics. This soprano is going to make someone very happy (and it might just be me– I really bought this one for myself!).

These pictures are taken before Matt overhauled this soprano! This is how good it looked right out of the case! When it is done being overhauled and polished, it will be gleaming silver and gold. The silver plate on this horn is super thick and shows no wear at all. This horn is all original, and it came with the original white pads. It is now getting a full overhaul by one of the best saxophone techs in the business, Matt Stohrer (google his name for lots of good reviews).
