This is a beautiful, gold plated example of a Conn New Wonder II soprano saxophone. It has almost all of its original thick gold plate intact. I went for years without being able to find one of these gold NWII’s, so if you are wanting a really rich, pleasant soprano sound together with the most beautiful horn possible, you may want to grab this one before it disappears. Once it is polished, it will look nearly new.

This is a beautiful, gold plated example of a Conn New Wonder II soprano saxophone. It has almost all of its original thick gold plate intact. The only past repair is that a crease was removed from the bell flare. It also needs a full repad. After that it will play with a rich, warm, complex tone that is far bigger and warmer than modern sopranos. I went for years without being able to find one of these gold NWII’s, so if you are wanting a really rich, pleasant soprano sound together with the most beautiful horn possible, you may want to grab this one before it disappears. Once it is polished, it will look nearly new.

People buy these 80-90 year-old sopranos for one reason above all: they have the warmest, fattest sound that you can get on soprano while also having pretty good intonation. The intonation is good-but-flexible, so if a particular note isn’t quite there, you can easily make the necessary adjustment. Ergonomics are decidedly not modern, but if you love the tone, then the keywork becomes easy and second-nature in a few weeks of playing. This horn ships in the original Conn case in good condition.
